Hi there!I'm Carmen. I go by she/her pronouns and I'm currently twenty-one (but really, I really really don't want to 'adult' yet). I haven't got much of an idea of where I'm going in life yet, but I'm seeing where school takes me and hopefully one day I'll find out.I've moved on a little from my tumblr days, though I still like to revisit this blog every now and then. I used to go by the username 'bookishleaves' but I've changed from who I was when I chose that username, and I think it's time this blog reflected that. For a while now, I've neglected reading, but I'm hoping to get back into it and to post new reviews again.
Thank you to those who have stuck with this blog, to those who have still liked my 'revamping my blog' posts every time (I have a lot of them and I never seem to be able to follow through). Whether it's because I just happened to reblog pretty book photos, or you just never bothered to unfollow a relatively unactive blog anymore, thank you.
This blog gave me a place to hide all those years ago and I'm grateful for those who were interested in what I had to say. From this point onward, it's more likely that this blog will just be a personal collection of book reviews for my own reference, but you are always welcome to message me or comment on my posts about your favourite books.Updated July 2018

paygeturner:

Three highly-anticipated crisp, brown packages arrived today via airmail  from Persephone BooksThe Far Cry by Emma Smith (1949), High Wages by Dorothy Whipple (1930), and Mariana by Monica Dickens (1940). The tie in end-paper bookmarks featuring period textile patterns are the cherry on top.
